in the news

The girls were featured in a local paper called WNC Parent magazine. In the February issue the girls talk about what they have done in the fair, what they like about the fair, and what they want to do this year. The newspaper said they will be back in a few months to do an update on the fair prep for this coming fair. If you get the chance you need to check it out. I think my Mama Bear has a few copies.

News of Debbie and Tim and Robyn 1-14-2011

Talked to Debbie last night...she called to say that she was out of the hospital. She sounded
wonderful...that sweet voice was a blessing to hear. We all continue to pray that she gets better real soon and is back to her good health quickly. Please keep her and Rob and girls in your prayers.

Have talked to Tim several times today..so what I am the Momma;;;lolol... he reports that Robyn has been resting..and she needs to. He says that he is so sore but Robyn is his main concern. She called and left me a message..I was so anxious to hear her voice for myself.
Please keep them in your prayers also.

Another note....PLEASE RESPECT THE SNOW AND ESPECIALLY THE ICE. Most of you that would be reading this...BTW..does anyone?.. have been affected by this recent southern cold snap...stay safe everyone...

Want some pleasant thoughts??? Everytime I think about July 4 get together...I smile...More on that later from Kitten and Mick...maybe all this snow will be melted by then. Another way to smile? Read Joni's blog...she is such a talented writer...it makes my day so many times...
Take care...

Tell That Someone That You Love

I am writing this to say to you all...You have read or heard by now about Tim and Robyn's car accident. I would like to say to you also ...please listen to the words of the song: If Tomorrow Never Comes...powerful words!

Tim and Robyn had the Lord riding or as some might even say "had the wheel"...those are not simple mindless words as I know without a shadow of a doubt that the Lord is ALWAYS directing their paths..and they live it also. We sometimes need to be reminded that as Tim wrote.."the material possessions of our lives are just that...and the only true real things are the ones we love". I can only imagine..knowing how his sister, nieces and father and I were feeling as we awaited news..how those two lovely girls of his were feeling as they waited at home...they were immediately surround by words written to them by friends and family...we were called by family as they read also...words of comfort...thanks!
Lets keep them in our thoughts and prayers..along with the other couple in the other car.
PRAISE THE LORD!

happy new years

we hope everyone brought the new years in the way you wanted to...we sure did
Nothing like celebrate a birthday, playing board games, & enjoy some down time. Hope this new year brings everything you wish for and you enjoyed your peas (peace), rice (riches), collards (green money)& pork (more peace..we need lots of that). One question, always growing up we ate a slice of onion with all of this...why?
Have a great 2011!

2010..my review

Some people write a Brag Letter at the Holiday time..so I decided to chronicle our year also...Readers Digest version.

This sure has been a long year...are you sure it only had 365 days?...it has been a year full of memories!!
Dave and Sandi have left Colorado and moved back to Florida..am not sure if this was 2010..but they attended our Roberts Reunion this summer and both are so healthy and happy...I know that Sandi's parents and family are so happy also to have them home and helping.
We had our Roberts Reunion with all the "older Roberts" attending. It was such a fun time for us and Gene and I were so happy to be able to visit with everyone and see how their lives are doing. Sitting around talking was such a memory maker and so much like the many hours we spent together when we all were younger.
It was so good to see Deb and Rob. We talked and laughed and had a very good time talking about our children and grand-children. Having everyone back in the States is good for them.
Kit and Dale and the boys moved to Georgia...I am sure that Georgia welcomed this wonderful family.Kit had her kool snowfall experience...there was such excitement in her posts about it. They found a church home.Daniel was hospitalized and is doing well now. He continues in our prayers as he plans to re-enter college next fall.
I especially loved being invited to Joni and John's home for Thanksgiving. Their home resonants with love and laughter. Her children welcomed us and showed us a true family Thanksgiving.
John's words and prayer remain in my heart as he spoke of MeeMaw and Poppa (or what-ever each family called them)..and the wonderful times we had with them in the past. Joni's Blog was written about the visit and as always her words made us laugh and remember.
Then Joe and Mic moved Joe back to his home state of Alabama....a Lake House...how wonderful! We can not wait to see it and as Mic referred to it.."their last earthly home"..their joy in being together shines thru.I love reading about Jenni's busy life keeping up with her three children. I hear about Jon and his family and the children's activities. Of course, I love reading about Josh's church and it's ways of reaching out to the people of Rome. Of course his notes about Briggs and Julie surely warm my heart.
The Gene branch has been busy this year as well. Tim and Robyn have been busy. Hope is President of her senior class and Emma is home schooling as she prepares for her acting career.
They are two beautiful young ladies both inside and out.Tim travels alot with his job and Robyn always keeps such a wonderful spirit about it all.
Ann and Jonathan and the girls are as busy as ever. The twins are 14.. and Sam is 10...they volunteer and donate their time to many causes. Their church activities keep them busy also.
Gene continues to work..says he can never retire. My main job is girl and dog sitting...sometimes that is a full time job..(that I love).
I hope 2011 brings health, love, and laughter to you all. I hope that you all will join in on this blog. We all expressed a desire to keep in touch and this could be the way.
Love to you all...k.
